Are all MPT users eligible to use Balance Transfer to send credit to friends?

All active Prepaid Swe Thahar and Base Tariff GSM/WCDMA users are elgibile to use Balance Transfer. User must have enough credit in the main balance to cover the transfer amount and the 5% service fee.

I am a postpaid user, can I use Balance Transfer?

Unfortunately, at this point in time MPT does not allow postpaid users to use Balance Transfer service to send credit to prepaid users. We are exploring the possibility of offering Balance Transfer to more of our subscriber base in the future.

Are all MPT users eligible to receive credit from a friend via Balance Transfer?

Only Prepaid Swe Thahar and Base Tariff GSM/WCDMA users are eligible to receive credit from Balance Transfer. Active, 1-way block and 2-way block users are eligible to receive credit.

I am a CDMA users, can I use Balance Transfer?

Unfortunately, at this point in time MPT does not offer the Balance Transfer service to CDMA customers. We are exploring the possibility of offering Balance Transfer to more of our subscriber base in the future.

Is there a minimum/maximum to the amount that I can transfer per transaction?

You can send any amount between 300 and 10,000 Ks at one time; there is no limit to the amount you can transfer in one day, but there is a limit of 5 transfers a day

How many transfers can I make per day?

There is a limit of 5 transfers a day. The counter starts and ends at midnight every day.

How long does it take for me to transfer credit to my friend?

After you request a Balance Transfer, your friend should receive credit in a matter of seconds.

What will be the validity of the credit transferred?

The balance validity will not be transferred. If the recipient is an active user whose main balance has not expired, the recipient’s main balance validity date will remain the same. [see the Special Treatments section for questions relating to 1-way block and 2-way block users]

Will I receive a notification after a Balance Transfer?

Yes, both the sender and recipient will receive a notification SMS upon a successful Balance Transfer.

Is there a maximum amount that I can transfer per day?

There is no limit to the amount you can transfer in one day, but there is a limit of 5 transfers a day.

How much does it cost for a Balance Transfer?

The cost for each Balance Transfer is 5% of the total transfer amount. The 5% is deducted from the sender’s main balance, while the recipient is not charged any fees.

Is there a maximum number of transfers or amount that I can receive per day?

There is no limit to the amount you can receive in one day, and but there is a limit to the number of transfers you can receive in one day. (Effective transfer limit of 50,000 Ks)

Can I transfer bonus balance to my friend?

No, the Balance Transfer service is only applicable for transfers of main balances.

What happens when I transfer credit to a 1-way block user? (A 1-way block user is a user whose main balance validity has expired, and is only able to receive SMS and calls)

A 1-way block user is eligible to receive a Balance Transfer. Upon receipt, the user will not be blocked any more and will instead get a main balance validity of 15 days. If the 1-way block user has not topped-up within the 15 days she should return to 1-way block status.

What happens when I transfer credit to a 2-way block user? (A 2-way block user is a user whose main balance validity has expired more than 30 days ago, and is not able to send/receive SMS or calls)

A 2-way block user is eligible to receive a Balance Transfer. Upon receipt, the user will not be blocked any more and will instead get a main balance validity of 15 days. If the 2-way block user has not topped-up within the 15 days she should return to 1-way block status.

How long will the SMS donation stay open for?

The SMS donation will open from 0:00 hr on 9 September 2016 until 23:95:59, 31 October 2016.

How can people find out how much has been collected?

MPT will release a report in regular basis during the period and will make statement at the close of the donation drive detailing how much has been collected and where the money has been distributed.

Can people donate more than 500 Kyats?

The SMS single donation is a fixed 500 Kyats. However there is no limit to how many times you can donate, so long as there is credit balance on your SIM card.

Can postpaid contract users donate too?

Only prepaid customers can donate at this time via SMS.

In what purposes to be used for the funds received by this scheme?

MPT is intending that this assistance if for any pagodas, stupas and heritage buildings damaged in the earthquake.

How will the money collected be distributed?

All aid received from this SMS drive will be openly donated on behalf of MPT’s users to relevant Myanmar government organizations and non-governmental organizations (NGO’s), helping to fund heritage reconstruction efforts across the regions that were damaged.

Will the money be donated all at once or on a regular basis?

We will make announcement on the final collected amount by the end of the October transparently. And will make regular report to public in order to understanding how many we have collected during the course of nearly two month. The funds will then donated to Myanmar government organisations and non-governmental organisations accountably.

If I type wrongly 1000 or other amount for the SMS donation, will it be deducted more than the stated amount of 500 kyats from my credit?

No. Every single SMS donation will cost only the stated amount 500 kyat.

Why only earthquake?

MPT believes that the protection and future proofing of historical heritage buildings are extremely important to the people of Myanmar – MPT has listened to its customers’ feedback via Facebook and call centres, which is why we have opened SMS donations for the earthquake rebuilding process.

Will my subscription renew automatically? What happens if I don’t have enough balance?

Yes, your subscription will renew automatically, depending on the Content Provider’s policy. Please check their website for more details. Depending on the Content Provider’s policy, if you have insufficient balance the subscription may be suspended or terminated. Please check the Content Provider’s website for more details.

How do I subscribe to Voice Mail Services ?

Send “VMS” to 1331 to subscribe. To get started, you will need to call 1550 to set your voicemail greeting, voice signature and password (between 4-6 digits). Subscription is free.

No, you may not.

How do I change my Voice Mail Services settings? (greeting message , language ,signature , password )?

Yes, you can change your settings, including your greeting message, language, signature and password. Simply follow the steps below: 1. Call 1550 2. Press “1″ – Access own mail box * 3. Press “2″ – Settings 4. Press “1″ – Greeting, “2″ – Password, “3” – Language or “4″ – Signature *If you receive the messages, please listen all messages. After that, you can choose the setting menu.

How do I use Voice Mail Services?

When your phone is out of network coverage area, you are unable to pick up your calls or your phone is switched off, your caller will be prompted to leave a Voice Mail. When you have a Voice Mail, the system will send you a notification. You can dial 1550 to retrieve the message, delete the voice message and manage your Voice Mail settings. A maximum of 20 Voice Mail messages can be stored. Usual voice tariff applies to leave a message or to call 1550.

How do I unsubscribe to Voice Mail Services?

Send “VMS OFF” to 1331 to unsubscribe.

What is the special greeting message?

Voice Mail Services has two types of greeting messages: personal greeting message and special greeting message. If you set a special greeting message, this will take precedence over the personal greeting message.

Can callers classify the voice mail messages?

Yes, callers can classify their messages to let you know whether it is normal, urgent or confidential. After recording the voice message, press *. Then choose the message type – press “1” for normal, “2” for urgent and “3 for confidential. You will receive an SMS notification with the message classification.

Who will be affected by the current changes on MCA service?

All current and new GSM and WCDMA subscribers will have MCA activated by default, with the exception of users who have subscribed to either Voice Mail Service or Call Forwarding service.

How do I subscribe to Missed Call Alert?

Send “MCA” to 1331 to subscribe. Subscription is free.

Do I need to call a number to check my missed calls?

No, the system will automatically send an SMS to notify you of your missed calls.

Can I use Voice Mail Service / Call Forwarding with MCA?

You may not use Voice Mail Service / Call Forwarding with MCA. If you are an active subscriber of either service, you will not be automatically enrolled to MCA.

Do I need to pay for MCA service?

User does not need to pay any fees for MCA service. It is a free service for all MPT users.

Can I get MCA message in Myanmar language?

Currently, user cannot get message in Myanmar language. But MPT is developing the Myanmar version and it should be ready in the coming months.

How do I use Missed Call Alert?

When your phone is out of network coverage area or is switched off, you will receive a notification SMS of any missed calls once your phone is switched on. You will not be charged for the notification SMS received.

How do I unsubscribe to Missed Call Alert?

Send “MCA OFF” to 1331 to unsubscribe.

You can access the service with the following USSD code:
