Auto-Telephone Numbers Will Be Changed As Exchanges Are Already Upgraded

(Yangon, 29th November 2019)– MPT announced today that existing auto telephone numbers are required to be migrated to new unique 7-digit numbers in order to improve quality and provide better services.

Therefore, the following North Dagon and East Dagon exchanges in Yangon Region were upgraded with the advanced system and auto telephone numbers to be changed as below table.

During transitional period of old numbers to new numbers, MPT will provide ‘call forwarding services’ for their incoming calls free of charge, for customers’ conveniences until the end of March 2020. The customers can enjoy “call forwarding services” as able to call to both existing (old) telephone numbers and (new) changed telephone numbers during the transitional period.

National Level Competition for MPT University Football Tournament 2019 Brings Next General Football Players

(Yangon, 28th November 2019) – The final matches of MPT University Football Tournament 2019, National Level Championship took place on 27th November at the Mandalar Thiri Football Stadium in Mandalay. Upper Myanmar (A) from men category and Lower Myanmar (A) from women category became the champions of the year 2019.

This tournament was kicked off on 11th October through 22nd November this year where zonal matches were held at the Padonmar and Universities football fields for Yangon and Mandalar Thiri and University football fields for Mandalay respectively. Afterwards, 2 teams each from both Men and Women category for upper and lower Myanmar were selected for the National Level Competition which have been taking place starting from 21st November 2019 at Mandalar Thiri Football Stadium in Mandalay.

The winning teams are awarded over 20 categories of trophies and price money worth of over 6 Million MMK. Moreover, the football talents from those winning teams will get a chance to be part a role in the upcoming ASEAN University Games, which hold bi-annually.

This tournament is part of a three-year partnership between MPT and MNL, which aims to accelerate the development of the new generation of Myanmar football players and to promote the healthy lifestyle among youths.

Football is not only worldwide most loved sport but also the most favorite sport in Myanmar, and people are hungry to see the victory of Myanmar. As the local and incumbent operator with dedication to the improvement of sports and health among Myanmar youth, MPT is supporting for the development of football sector by bringing football scenes in Myanmar such as Grassroots Football Festivals, U-14 Football Tournaments and MPT University Football Tournaments nationwide in partnership with MNL and MFF. Signing Ceremony Organized For Upgrading Communication Network Improvement Project

MPT, Myanmar’s first and leading telecommunications operator, and a Japanese Sojitz Corporation have signed a contract at Kempinski Hotel, Nay Pyi Taw on 20th November 2019 at 10:00 AM aimed to upgrade major communication infrastructures across Myanmar with JICA ODA Loan.

Today’s Event was graced by Deputy Union Ministers U Kyaw Myo and U Thar Oo of Ministry of Transport and Communications, Head of Department, Japanese Ambassador to Myanmar H.E. Mr. Ichiro Maruyama, Chief Representative Mr. Masayuki Karasawa from JICA Myanmar Office, Head of department from Ministry of Finance & Planning, Ministry of Commerce, Ministry of Investment and Foreign Economic Relations, representative executives from JTEC-JV and Sojitz Corporation and distinguished guests.

U Thar Oo, Deputy Union Minister of Ministry of Transport and Communications was made opening speech and Japanese Ambassador to Myanmar H.E. Mr. Ichiro Maruyama made speech of enjoyment after that.

Afterward, U Khin Maung Tun, Managing Director of Myanma Posts and Telecommunications and Mr Koichi Yamaguchi, Managing Executive Officer of Sojitz Corporation explained about project and operations of the project respectively.

Then, contract singing has been done by U Khin Maung Tun, Managing Director for Myanma Posts and Telecommunications and Mr Koichi Yamaguchi, Managing Executive Officer of Sojitz Corporation and there was a group photo session after exchanging the signed copy.

Project Feasibility Study for Communication Network Improvement Project was incubated in February 2013. International tender was open to execute the project after singing loan agreement, worth of Japan Yan 10.5 Billion, between Myanmar and Japan governments was signed on March 2015. Sojitz Corporation is selected to finalize the agreement contract after reviewing the tender candidates.

Upgrading communication infrastructures from Yangon, Nay Pyi Taw & Mandalay, integration of National Gateways and ISP, constructing communication infrastructures for Thilawa Special Economic Zone would be executed and project timeline will be last for 2 years.

The National Finals of The MPT University Football Tournament 2019

(Yangon, 19th November 2019)- The opening ceremony of National Level Championship Matches of MPT University Football Tournament 2019 will be held at the Mandalar Thiri Football Stadium on 20th November. Two men and women teams each from Upper Myanmar and Lower Myanmar will be competing against each other starting from this week. This year’s tournament will reach a climax on November 27th when the finals will be staged at the Mandalar Thiri Football Stadium in Mandalay.

MPT is committed to promote “the beautiful game” at the National level and this collaboration between MPT, MFF, MNL and Ministry of Education will encourage the new generation of football stars to compete and showcase their skills while promoting the importance of healthy lifestyle, sportsmanship and friendship among university students.

MPT University Football Tournament was launched in February 2018. The tournament is a part of a three-year partnership between MPT and MNL, which aims to accelerate the development of the new generation of Myanmar football players. It is also part of ongoing MPT’s strategy to support grassroots football, which consist youth leagues, coach training, and advancing football facilities.

MPT University Football Tournament 2019 kicked off on 11th October this year and games were held at the Padonmar and Universities football fields for Yangon and Mandalar Thiri and Universities football fields for Mandalay respectively.

Backed by the Ministry of Education, MPT is organizing University Football Tournament to produce qualified players for the Myanmar championship team. Regional champions have been crowned after months of competitions in regional legs. Now, the top teams from both regions will face each other for national level honours. The tournament also aims to foster football talents in preparation for the upcoming ASEAN University Games, which hold bi annually.

MPT To Host Its Nationwide 9th Blood Donation Event Honoring 99th National Day

(Yangon, 8th November 2019) – MPT, Myanmar’s first and leading telecommunication operator to be hosted its public blood donation event on 20th November 2019 to commemorate 99th National Day at the National Blood Center Yangon and it will be simultaneously happened in other 17 regional hospitals nationwide.

This is the 9th edition of blood donation event MPT has been initiated and, thus far, more than 2,475,000 ml of blood were donated during the past eight editions and more than 5,500 blood donors across the country comprising MPT employees and local communities had participated to support the people who need clean and life-saving blood.

MPT To Celebrate Happy Tazaungdaing Lighting Festival at Six Sacred Pagodas

(Yangon, 5th November 2019) – To commemorate the full moon day of Tazaungmone, a time of special singnificance for Buddhist devotees around the country, MPT will be distributing shawls and lighting up oil lamps as offering to six sacred pagodas in Yangon, Mandalay, Sagaing, Bago (East), Ayeyarwaddy and Mon on 11th November, 2019.
