Auto-Telephone Numbers Will Be Changed As Exchanges Are Already Upgraded

(Yangon, 22nd January 2020) – MPT announced today that existing auto telephone numbers are required to be migrated to new unique 7-digit numbers in order to improve quality and provide better services. Therefore, the following exchanges were upgraded with the advanced system and existing copper cable system will be upgraded to high speed fiber cable system telephone numbers to be changed as below table.

During transitional period of old numbers to new numbers, MPT will provide 3 Months ‘call forwarding services’ for their incoming calls free of charge, for customers’ conveniences starting from Migration. The customers can enjoy “call forwarding services” as able to call to both existing (old) telephone numbers and (new) changed telephone numbers during the transitional period.

Switch To E-invoice And Save Green With MPT

(Yangon, 21st January 2020) – MPT, Myanmar’s first and leading telecommunications operator, encourages its customers to register for E-invoice service. With the E-invoice system, MPT customers who are using post-paid and FTTH service, will receive their invoice statements via SMS or e-mail instead of traditional paper invoices. Digital invoices are not only more convenient but also helpful in saving the environment. Additionally, every Individual Private MPT customer switching to E-invoice will enjoy a special discount.

E-invoices eliminate the need for mailing paper invoices as they will be sent directly to the customers electronically via SMS or email. The new E-invoice system will significantly reduce energy usage and environmental waste.

With the introduction of E-invoices MPT is taking steps in joining the world-wide movement of reducing paper usage to help to prevent trees from being cut down and eliminates the energy that is used to convert a tree into paper. Moreover, going paperless means a significant reduction in the use of ink for printing and CO2 emissions as a result of vehicles required to deliver paper documents and ultimately reducing air pollution that affects the environment and health of millions of people.

Mr. Reizo Umeda, Chief Commercial Officer of MPT-KSGM Joint Operations said, “E-invoice brings a lot of benefits for the environment and convenience to the customers as digitization reduces not only the usage of paper but also it can make the busy daily life of the people nowadays easier. You will receive your invoice much faster compared to receiving it by paper. You can conveniently settle the payment without carrying an additional paper and enjoy a special discount from MPT. Now, every individual customer registering for E-invoice will get 500 kyats discount each month for five consecutive months, altogether 2500 kyats.”

MPT Customers can easily apply for E-invoice service by visiting the nearest MPT Office, contacting Call Centre (106), or filling up a form available at the following website https://www.mpt.com.mm/mm/e-invoice-registration-mm/. After successful registration, the customer will receive an SMS or e-mail to confirm the preferred E-invoice distribution channel.

As a responsible local telecommunications operator, MPT embarks on several CSR programs including nationwide tree-planting campaign called “MPT Green Movement” and nationwide clean activities called “Clean and Fresh to Move Forward”. MPT And MCF Brought “Technopreneurship For Myanmar 4.0” Event To Promote Technical Entrepreneurship Among Myanmar Youth

(Yangon, 13th January 2020) – MPT, Myanmar’s first and leading telecommunications operator and Myanmar Computer Federation (MCF) joined forces together to promote technical entrepreneurship among Myanmar youth through the “Technopreneurship for Myanmar 4.0” event as part of the Myanmar Youth Technopreneurship Development Program (MYTDP) 2020. The event took place on 11th January 2020, at the MICT Park in Yangon.

The “Technopreneurship For Myanmar 4.0” event was held with the aim of building meaningful connections among tech community participants by staging panel discussions and providing unique opportunities for networking for aspiring Myanmar entrepreneurs and promoting vibrant entrepreneurship spirit among the youth.

Myanmar Youth Technopreneurship Development Program (MYTDP) is MPT’s business incubation initiative launched in 2017 in collaboration with MCF. This program aims to identify and support talented and aspiring entrepreneurs with innovative business ideas by creating new business opportunities and develop tech skills with the goal of establishing a network of innovative, local start-ups that will benefit Myanmar’s economy by addressing various socio-economic issues.

MPT Announces SIM Lifecycle For Customers Awareness

(Yangon, 9th January 2020) – MPT today announced that MPT customers should be aware of SIM Lifecycle and SIM Validity to avoid losing their mobile phone number.

 

After purchasing the registered SIM cards, MPT customers are required to make the first call, SMS, USSD or by topping-up within 180 days.  If the SIM card is not activated within 180 days, the SIM card in question will be moved to “Cooling Stage” where both Inbound and Outbound calls are restricted.

 

After successful activation, the SIM card will have 365 days validity. However, customers are required to make a top-up within 60 days of activation. failure to do so will move the SIM card to “One-Way Block Stage” for 30 days, where customers can only receive incoming calls. All outgoing calls, SMS, Data and all Chargeable Services will be blocked.

 

When the SIM card is in “One-Way Block Stage”, customers can top-up within 30 days period to re-activate it. If a top-up is not made within 30 days, the SIM card will be moved to “Two-Way Block Stage” for 60 days, where both incoming and outgoing calls, SMS, Data and all chargeable services are blocked.

 

A SIM card in “Two-Way Blocked Stage” can be re-activated within 60 days period by a top-up using e-load such as mobile top-up or request another person to top-up the number to move it back to “Active Stage”. However, if a top-up is not made within 60 days the SIM card will be fully decommissioned and moved to “Cooling Stage”, after which a customer will require to visit an MPT own Shop for reactivation and top-up.

 

Therefore, MPT encourages its customers to make regular top-up to ensure the SIM card maintains its validity. SIM validity will be increased to 365 days from the date of recharge with every top-up.

According to the latest regulations, after another 60 days, the SIM card will be moved to “Recycle Stage” which will be reallocated to a new customer. and the phone number will be dissociated from the SIM card and it may be reassigned to a new customer. All MPT pre-paid customers can check the validity of their SIM cards by dialling *124# or sending SMS “BAL” to 1331. SIM Validity does not apply to MPT post-paid SIM cards.

Partnership With MPT And MNL Enters 3rd Year After Big Success In Last 2 Years Collaboration

(Yangon, 3rd January 2020) – MPT is working closely with Myanmar National League (MNL) under its strategic partnership for a period of (3) years from 2018 to 2020 with a mission to encourage and promote the development of Myanmar’s next generation of youth football players, to support the long-term success of the most favorite sport in country and to create a healthy lifestyle among the children and young people.
Now, MPT and MNL have been successfully collaborated for its two years of partnership with the aim to encourage youth to become more active through sport, to inspire the youth of Myanmar in the golden age of football and healthier lifestyle among young generations in Myanmar. Through this collaboration, MPT and MNL can draw more attention on Myanmar National League by the public and fans and in 2019 there are over 500,000 spectators came and watched the exciting matches compare to the year 2017, before the partnership, which is only over 190,000 spectators.
Grassroots Football Festivals, U-14 Tournaments and MPT University Football Tournaments were also held around the country with the aim of promoting Myanmar football to reach international level and to groom professional football players in long term by enhancing the grassroots of football in Myanmar. These activities have enabled football players to gain experience for more than 4,000 students across the country. In addition, MPT supported over 5,000 soccer balls to MNL and additional prize money worth of 55 Mil MMK to youth development sectors.
In coincide with 2 years partnership, awarding ceremony for the best players and championships were organized by Myanmar Football Federation (MFF) and Myanmar National League Committee at the Thuwuna Artificial Turf at Thingangyun township, Yangon on 27th December 2019 to celebrate success of football during one-year period and over 30 awards were provided.
For the opening of MPT Myanmar National League 2020 matches, MFF Charity Cup 2020 (Fund raising match) organized by Myanmar Football Federation and Myanmar National League Committee will be held at YUSC Football stadium at 3:30 PM on 5th of January 2020. Two champions of Shan United (Champion of Myanmar National League 2019) and Yangon United (Champion of General Aung San Shield 2019) will match to support the social organizations.
