Coca-Cola and MPT team up on the successful ‘Refresh and Top-Up’ Promotion for third consecutive year

(Yangon, 22 May 2018) MPT, Myanmar’s first and leading telecommunication’s operator, today announced its collaboration with Coca-Cola Myanmar on the successful and beloved ‘Refresh and Top-Up’ Promotion for third consecutive year, giving the chance to consumers to win prize top-up value and stay connected with family and friends.

From 1st May to 31st August 2018, MPT subscribers who purchase participating Coca-Cola products will find unique codes under the yellow bottle caps and ring tabs of their favourite drinks, including Coca-Cola, Coca-Cola Zero, Max+, Minute Maid, Aquarius, Heaven and Earth, Max Power and Sprite in both plastic bottles and aluminium cans. The promotion enables consumers to redeem their codes to the number 2626 via free SMS and have the chance to win airtime prizes valued at 200, 1,000, 5,000, 10,000 and 1,000,000 Ks, to be instantly credited to their mobile accounts.

The campaign will allow consumers to stay connected and share their moments with their beloved ones through MPT. By easing their concerns on budget spending on connectivity, ‘Refresh and Top-Up’ promotion is set as a convenient opportunity to refresh, uplift and connect with friends and family while maximising their break times.

After submitting their codes to the MPT dedicated number 2626 via free SMS, all MPT GSM/WCDMA mobile customers will instantly receive an SMS notification if they have submitted a winning code and a prize top-up will be instantly credited to their accounts. Winners have a range of options for their rewards, including calls to MPT numbers, SMS or mobile data. The winning top-up codes are valid for 12 months since the winning notification is received, extended to 24 months for the 1,000,000 Ks worth grand prizes. All codes must be submitted prior to August 31st 2018, and customers can redeem up to 5 codes per day.

Launched in July 2015, the ground-breaking ‘Refresh and Top-Up’ marked the first time that an under-the-cap campaign provided prize top-up value to consumers in Myanmar and set the record as the largest promotion both by participation and prize value in the country, with more than 28.5 billion entries within three years. In 2017, the campaign collected three major international marketing prizes, including the first global marketing and advertising award in the country’s history.
