05 May 2020

(Yangon, 5th May 2020) – MPT customers who may have overlooked the deadline to complete SIM Registration with accurate information will now have their SIM cards moved to “One-Way Block Stage” where outgoing calls, SMS, data and all chargeable services are blocked except to access MPT4U App or MPT’s Customer Selfcare Website or to contact 106 Call Center.

However, as per the Posts and Telecommunications Department (PTD) guidelines, a grace period through 30th June 2020 has been established to allow mobile customers to complete the SIM Registration process with accurate personal information to re-activate their SIM cards.

Even in “One-Way Block Stage”, customers can easily and conveniently update SIM registration from the convenience of their Home by accessing MPT4U App or by dialing *601# or through MPT’s Customer Selfcare Website at http://care.mpt.com.mm.

Customers also have an option to visit MPT Own Shop, Franchise Shop, Regional Office or Point-of-Sale locations to complete SIM registration.

The legal name of the customer along with proper identification such as NRC Number for Myanmar Citizens or Passport for Foreigners is required to complete the SIM registration. The SIM card will be re-activated approximately 30 minutes after the successful completion of the registration process.
