MNL Scores Strategic Partnership With MPT To Promote Myanmar Youth Participation In Football

(Yangon, 25November 2017) –A Contract was signed today between the Myanmar National League (MNL) and Myanma Posts and Telecommunications (MPT) at a special ceremony held at Novotel Hotel Max Yangon to form a strategic partnership to boost the development and support new generation for youth football in the country.

Collaborating with the MNL, the country’s main organizer of football competitions including the popular top flight MNL I and MNL II leagues, General Aung San Shield tournament as well as youth level competitions for various age groups, the three-year partnership running from 2018 to 2020 signals MPT’s commitment to promote the long-term growth of the “beautiful game” and encourage a healthy lifestyle amongst Myanmar’s children and youth.

Through Myanmar’s leading telecommunications operator’s support for the MNL, both organizations aim to increase involvement at all age groups through football activities including various MPT Grassroots events for children aged between six and twelve as well as U14 and university student-level tournaments.

The partnership signed today formalized the relationship between MPT and the MNL. The agreement provides a platform for the respective organizations to leverage their synergies, jointly organizing competitions and soon rollout highly-anticipated initiatives to drive participation of children and youth in football which will be announced in the upcoming months.
