MPT And MCF Brought “Technopreneurship For Myanmar 4.0” Event To Promote Technical Entrepreneurship Among Myanmar Youth13 Jan 2020
(Yangon, 13th January 2020) – MPT, Myanmar’s first and leading telecommunications operator and Myanmar Computer Federation (MCF) joined forces together to promote technical entrepreneurship among Myanmar youth through the “Technopreneurship for Myanmar 4.0” event as part of the Myanmar Youth Technopreneurship Development Program (MYTDP) 2020. The event took place on 11th January 2020, at the MICT Park in Yangon.
The “Technopreneurship For Myanmar 4.0” event was held with the aim of building meaningful connections among tech community participants by staging panel discussions and providing unique opportunities for networking for aspiring Myanmar entrepreneurs and promoting vibrant entrepreneurship spirit among the youth.
Myanmar Youth Technopreneurship Development Program (MYTDP) is MPT’s business incubation initiative launched in 2017 in collaboration with MCF. This program aims to identify and support talented and aspiring entrepreneurs with innovative business ideas by creating new business opportunities and develop tech skills with the goal of establishing a network of innovative, local start-ups that will benefit Myanmar’s economy by addressing various socio-economic issues.
“Entrepreneurship in today worlds become more inclined to technologies related businesses and I believe this event would benefit to the future generations of Myanmar by giving inspirations to bring more entrepreneurs. At MPT, we truly believe that enhancing technopreneur culture among youths is vital to build up the capacity for digital economy and transformation of Myanmar.” said Mr. Koichi Kasuya, Chief Operating Officer of MPT-KSGM JO.
Among the panellists who discussed with the title of “Established successful business leaders” and shared the first-hand experience of some of the challenges that often arise in the early stages of a start-up were successful Myanmar entrepreneurs and industry leaders, including:

“We recognized the efforts of young entrepreneurs who kickstarted their businesses following their participation in the previous editions of MYTDP, which we have been co-organizing with MPT. It is important to understand that setting up tech companies require more than just pouring resources into a venture. There is a learning curve that can help ensure the success of future enterprises,” added U Min Zeyar Hlaing, President of MCF.

MPT and MCF are inviting all aspiring entrepreneurs with innovative business ideas to participate in the MYTDP 2020, in the fields of Education, Agriculture, Health Care, Society, Open Data, Civic Tech, Entertainment, and Fintech.
The closing date for applications is 24th January 2020 where the contest will run in two stages: the preliminary stage and the finals planned for February 2020. The winners of MYTDP 2020 will be selected and announced on 29th February 2020.
