MPT Announces Bestone Mobile Partnership for SIM Registration

13 Dec 2016

(Yangon, 13 December 2016) – Customers will have the opportunity to register their SIM cards at Bestone mobile service centers across Myanmar starting from 15 December, 2016. MPT and Bestone Mobile have announced a new partnership that will provide people with an additional avenue for SIM registration.

There will be more than 30 Bestone mobile service centers, including OVI shops, that will offer the registration service for MPT customers. People passing by or shopping in the stores will be able to quickly and easily register their SIM cards.

A full list of the locations, including in Mandalay, Nay Pyi Taw, Yangon, Magway, Sagaing, Bago, Ayeyarwaddy, Kachin, Mon, Shan and Thanintharyi can be found on the MPT website www.mpt.com.mm and bestone website www.bestonemobile.com.

This is the latest announcement from MPT of retail and commercial partners through which its customers can complete their SIM registration – a requirement mandated by the Posts and Telecommunications Department (PTD) to be fulfilled by the end of March 2017. It follows CB Bank and KBZ Bank branches as alternative sites where people can take their NRC card (not a copy), or other identification issued by the government, in order to register in time for the deadline.

Mr. Tao Ye, Managing Director, Bestone mobile said “We would like to express our deepest appreciation for this cooperation opportunity given by MPT. With our countrywide service centers and our experienced service in mobile, we believe that it will be convenient for customers to subscribe their SIM registration in Bestone mobile. We are always ready to support you with best service”.
MPT is offering more and more locations, partnering with an expanding network of retail outlets, universities and industrial zones to offer customers the most convenient avenues possible to register. Mr Koichi Kawase, Chief Commercial Officer MPT-KSGM said “Bestone is the most recent of our collaborations with other partners, as we are continuing to try to make it hassle free for people to register their SIM cards”.

Information on other locations, such as MPT branded stores or instructions on how to register online, is available on the MPT website and mobile portal.
