[:en](Yangon, March 28, 2016) Myanma Posts and Telecommunications (MPT), the first and leading telecommunications operator in Myanmar, announced the launch of a new Yu Htar, or ‘Loan Balance’ service, on March 28, in a bid to help their users with low credit to access telecommunications facilities. This new service will help users with a low credit balance to obtain a loan balance of up to Ks.800 from MPT.
The service is really easy to use, if your credit falls to Ks.200 or below, just use the USSD code: *800#[send]. The loan is credited for 30 days, and the borrowed amount can be used for all services apart from Balance Transfer to other users. Users will be charged Ks. 50 for a service fee, which will be deducted from the next top-up or balance transfer received of 850ks or more.
Mr. Koichi Kawase, Chief Commercial Officer of MPT-KSGM Joint Operation, said, “Top priority for 2016 is improving all services for all of our customers, so we have launched balance transfer allowing customers to share credit with friends and family, and now loan balance, which means users can borrow directly from MPT. This service is specifically designed to be used in emergencies, for convenience if there is nowhere to easily top-up, or if it is a bit of time until pay day. We hope this service helps our low-income customers.”
Terms and Conditions of MPT’s Loan Transfer Service
- Service is offered to valid MPT prepaid GSM/WCDMA customers only
- User must have topped up at least once in the past six months with MPT
