[:en](Yangon, March 8, 2016) – MPT, the country’s most prominent telecoms operator in Myanmar, is leading the way when it comes to its entertainment programme for Thingyan 2016. For today they announce that the country’s leading rock band Iron Cross will headline the MPT stage in Mandalay, with local band Lucky Hand performing in Yangon.
Guaranteed to quench the crowd’s thirst for rock, pop, dance and performance, all the bands will be eager to stir the crowds into a Thingyan frenzy as the music washes over the crowds for a full day of entertainment.
Mr.Koichi Kawase, Chief Commercial Officer of MPT-KSGM Joint Operations remarked: Thingyan is the biggest festival in the Myanmar calendar and as the largest telecom operator in the country with over 19 million subscribers to the MPT network, it is only fitting that we have the best bands in Myanmar to entertain the people of Yangon and Mandalay.
Rocking the crowd from the MPT Panel at the north side of Mandalay’s Royal Palace. Iron Cross, the most popular and famous rock band in Myanmar, will feature their regular lineup of vocalists; Lay Phyu, Ah Nge, Myo Gyi and Y Wine, with Chit San Maung on lead guitar, Khin Maung Thant on bass, Banyar Naing on keyboards and Kha Yam on drums.
Whereas Lucky Hand will present together with pop and rock vocalists who are Wine Su Khine Thein, Chit Kaung, May Kha Lar, Aung Htet, Graham and Nu Nu Sein on the centrally located MPT stage along Pyay Road in the Kamayut Township of Yangon.
Starting the festivities on Tuesday 12th April from the Panel Opening Ceremony in the afternoon, all acts will continue to perform throughout the festival from 9am until 6pm each evening from Wednesday 13th through to Sunday 16th April.
