(Yangon, 9th June 2020) – As a part of its CSR initiative during COIVD-19 , MPT goes way beyond providing telecommunication services to the COVID-19 Centers but also provides basic food items as essential foods for nutrition to communities especially in this time and supporting its nationwide COVID-19 relief efforts.
The operator has made valuable donations of basic food items worth MMK 12 million to orphanages across Myanmar. The donations came at a time many orphanages, located in the most vulnerable communities, are facing the challenge of properly feeding the children where support and contributions are vital for these orphanages which relies heavily on charitable donations.
“MPT is constantly providing support to front liners such as healthcare workers, essential workers, medical centers, quarantine centers, and volunteers across the country and keep Myanmar connected. We are committed to providing relief to vulnerable people, and orphanages are widely impacted by this kind of global pandemic situation. Access to nutrition diet is crucial, that is why we decided to support orphanages, monastic schools, and childcare centers with basic food items,” said U Myo Than, Deputy Chief Operating Officer of MPT-KSGM JO.
