(Yangon, 28 November 2017) – Myanma Posts and Telecommunications today announced the latest expansion of its IP-VPN (Internet Protocol – Virtual Private Network) service nationwide to now encompass 55 cities across Myanmar. With IP-VPN availability in even more regions than before, MPT can now provide broader interconnectivity and service delivery, simultaneously enhancing quality and operational reach for both new and existing customers.
The expansion allows MPT to better support the growth of companies in Myanmar that seek to streamline their network connectivity across multiple regions. Enterprise customers using the IP-VPN service will now have the capability to conveniently connect hard-to-reach locations or temporary sites into their virtual private networks.
“With the significantly wider regional coverage nationwide, our valued customers in the expanded locations will be able to overcome geographical limitations, network deployment constraints and time barriers while enabling business customers to integrate their global communications onto a single secure and resilient IP-VPN. This offering is fully adaptable to customer needs as they can enjoy improved scalability to deploy crucial solutions for their growing enterprises flexibly. Since 2015, MPT has been rolling out its IP-VPN service in Myanmar to an increasing number of areas, providing high-level security on a simplified network structure, with lower costs than leased lines available in the market. MPT recently introduced its IP-VPN Global Connection last month, which provides a flexible managed network on a stable multi-protocol label switching (MPLS)-based wide area network, empowering companies that are now able to seamlessly connect offices in Myanmar to more than 100 other countries. Customers also benefit from the reduced cost of ownership with minimal management complexity through MPT’s one-stop ordering and one-stop billing hub, substantially minimizing product cost
effectively through the carriage of data on single network with better performance management and reporting.
The expansion of the IP-VPN network includes Myitkyina, Kathar, Monywa, Magway, Taung Dwin Gyi, Yae Nan Chaung, Sittwae, Thantwe, Nay Pyi Taw, Tat Kone, Pathein, Chaung Thar, Hinthada, Latputtar, Yangon, Hlegu, Mandalay, Pyin Oo Lwin, Myinchan, Kyaukse, Thar Si, Lashio, Taunggyi, Loikaw, Bago, Nyaung Lay Pin, Thar Yar Waddy, Myawaddy, Kyaikto,
Mawlamyine and Dawei, where business, enterprise and government clients can extend and connect their network through a mobile access-based proposition.
In December 2017, MPT will also be pushing further with the expansion to also encompass Ba Maw, Sagaing, Kalay, Pakokku, Kyauk Phyu, Ottara Thiri Myo Thit, Bokalay, Ma U Bin, Myaung Mya, Kyauk Pan Taung, Meiktila, Moegyoke, Tadar Oo, Tachileik (East), Muse(North), Aungban (South), Kalaw (South), Nyaung Shwe (South), Taungoo (East), Pyay (West), Hpa-An and Myeik.
As IP-VPN technology provides remote login and file access functionality across wide area networks, users can keep protect their communications by using secured mobile remote access service.
