[:en]400 guests to receive special day passes courtesy of MPT to see top music acts perform to crowds in Yangon & Mandalay

(Yangon, 1 April 2016) – MPT, the first and leading telecommunications operator in Myanmar announced that 200 MPT Facebook winners and their guests will be able to share the fun and excitement alongside Myanmar’s top music acts, with special MPT back stage passes during Thingyan 2016.

From the 13th to 16th April, winners of the MPT Facebook competition will get the opportunity to get even closer to Myanmar’s favorite rock band Iron Cross, as they dance and rock with the band in Mandalay. Whilst in Yangon, the lucky guests will enjoy the range of pop, rock and reggae beats together with modern and traditional Thingyan dance.

100 winners for each city (Yangon or Mandalay) were chosen at random after liking, sharing and changing their public profile on Facebook to an MPT themed picture. With winners having been announced on 30th and 31st March, each of the winners are now able to bring one friend and will receive a one-day free pass for the MPT Panel on a selected date between 13th April and 16th April.

Mr.Koichi Kawase, Chief Commercial Officer of MPT-KSGM Joint Operations remarked: “Thingyan is the biggest and most special time in the Myanmar calendar. As MPT has already secured the best entertainment for Thingyan 2016, we wanted to show how much we really appreciate our value customers by ensuring lucky contest winner to enjoy with us a New Year celebration they will never forget.”

Rocking the crowd from the MPT Panel in front of Yadanarpon Zoo in the Northern Part of Moat, Mandalay, Iron Cross, will feature their regular lineup of vocalists; Lay Phyu, Ah Nge, Myo Gyi, Wyne Wyne, and new singers Hlaing Lay and Easta, with Chit San Maung on lead guitar, Khin Maung Thant on bass, Banyar Naing on keyboards and Kha Yam on drums. Their music speaks to all ages and nationalities in Myanmar.

Whereas singers Chit Kaung, May Kha Lar, Wine Su Khine Thein, Aung Htet, Graham, G Latt and Ma Nu Nu Sein Lucky Hand will join local Yangon band ‘Lucky Hand’ and female dance group ‘Here & Now’, AMay Myar Dance Grop and Ma Ma Myar Dance Group on the centrally located MPT stage at No.647/A, 2nd Quarter, along Pyay Road in the Kamayut Township of Yangon.

Starting the festivities at 3:00pm on Tuesday 12th April from the Panel Opening Ceremony, all acts will continue to perform throughout the festival from 9am until 6pm each from Wednesday 13th through to Saturday 16th April.
