(Yangon, 24th December 2018) Myanmar’s first and leading telecommunications operator, MPT is pleased to announce that its nationwide LTE+ mobile network now passed 314 townships across the country. This exciting development comes with addition of 58 more townships to the growing list of covered regions this month, having just reached the 256 township mark in November 2018. Now almost the entire country can enjoy the enhanced mobile experiences made possible by MPT’s cutting-edge LTE+ 4×4 MIMO-powered network as they go online to access entertainment, news and educational content, stay connected via social media and communicate with friends and family.
“All of us at MPT are very delighted to reach this amazing target of covering 314 townships across Myanmar this month. Since we first launched LTE+ here last year, we had an ambitious aim of ushering in the next phase of Myanmar mobile telecommunications by connecting the people of Myanmar to high-speed 4G mobile network services. Furthermore, customer access to MPT’s huge line-up of value-added services (VAS) is better than ever, with enriching offerings from entertainment streaming, e-book, sports updates, and many more improved with LTE+ ensuring faster speeds, quality and fidelity for content delivered over MPT’s nationwide mobile network.

Residents of the newly-added townships in Ayeyawaddy, Bago, Chin, Kachin, Kayah, Kayin, Magway, Mandalay, Rakhine, Sagaing, Shan (South, North and East) and Tanintharyi can now access MPT’s network on 4G-enabled devices at no extra charge.
