MPT is selling Vanity numbers to bring electricity to remote Myanmar

[:en](Yangon, Myanmar, December 07, 2015) – MPT, Myanmar’s first and leading telecommunications company, will be hosting an auction of its Vanity numbers of MPT Mobiles at Park Royal Hotel in Yangon from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm on December 19th 2015. All the revenue generated from the auction will be used to provide Solar Lanterns allowing villagers to have some light to read / study in the evening, recharge their phone anytime.

This is the time that the Myanmar people will have access to these coveted Vanity numbers directly from MPT. All the proceeds from this CSR auction will enable MPT to provide Phaungdawoo Monastic Education in Mandalay and its communities where electricity is not available with Panasonic solar storage.

There will be one auction in the morning, from 9am-1pm, and another in the afternoon, from 2pm-6pm. MPT will invite individual or corporate guests and individual or corporate entities can send an email to [email protected] or call 01-563130 including their Name, Address, Phone Number, a copy of NRC card, Company Name, Bank detail and they will receive a Confirmation Email with an Invitation upon availability.

70 numbers of auctions will be auctioned in whole session, including highly coveted 7 repeaters and 6 repeater number types, and packages of 5 repeaters.

This innovative initiative is part of MPT’s long term commitment to help improve the lifestyle of the Myanmar people and the economically disadvantaged by offering light and energy to those who would otherwise not have access. This is in addition to MPT’s many other CSR commitments, including the SMS donation for flood victims, sponsorship of various development programs, and candle and shawl donations to many religious festivals throughout the year.

It is one of MPT’s top priorities to aid the development and growth of Myanmar, and by providing light, energy, and communication facilities to the people in rural areas, we hope that this makes a positive difference to the people and their communities.”

The Panasonic solar Storage can create, store and utilize solar energy effectively. Each solar Storage can function up to 24 hours on a single five-hour charge. It can last up to five years. Battery is replaceable, hence reducing operations cost as well as the need for maintenance. The Solar Storage doubles up as a light and power source at night, with the added capability to charge small mobile devices such as mobile phones via a USB port, allowing these isolated local communities to stay connected.
