
MPT MNL Season to Kick Off in Monywa for 2018
09 Jan 2018(Yangon, 9 January 2018) The first match in a partnership between the Myanmar National League (MNL) and MPT will soon occur, returning the excitement of National League Football to Myanmar for 2018. Happening on 11 January at Monywa Stadium, Sagaing United will play against Rakhine United for the first MNL I match of the season, broadcast live on TV.
Now in its first full year of operations, the agreement with MNL signals MPT’s commitment to promote the long-term growth of the “beautiful game” and encourage a healthy lifestyle amongst Myanmar’s children and youth. Both organizations aim to increase involvement at all age groups through football activities including various MPT Grassroots events for children aged between six and twelve as well as U14 and university student-level tournaments. MPT hopes to develop football skills of Myanmar youth to further the performance of the country at an international level.
MPT MNL is happy to announce the first round of matches in 2018, beginning on 11 January at Monywa Stadium. 12 teams are competing for top honors in MNL I, with the return this year of the rivalry between fan favourites Shan United and Yangon United.
