(Yangon, 23 November, 2015) MPT has replaced and updated the Thaicom5 satellite to a Thaicom7 satellite free of charge, to provide a better quality service to their C-Band IPStar users. This update, which was carried out starting from April 01, 2015, includes tuning and counterbalance of antenna, to help users receive clearer and more reliable network coverage. MPT made the announcement in Myanmar Ahlin Newspaper on March 30, 2015.
Users who did not see the previous announcement and those who changed to the new location still need to transfer to the new satellite and they should contact (01-653396, 01-653397, 01-542108, 01-552219). This announcement was also made in Myanmar Alin Newspaper on September 13, 2015.
MPT would like to remind their customers that IPStar users can have their satellite transferred to the new one free of charge, with machine part costs covered by Thaicom Co.Ltd., but they will need to arrange this before December 30th 2015. As long as the user arranges the upgrade before this date, they will only need to pay for the transportation and accommodation fees of the installer. If users contact MPT any later than December 30th, all costs should be paid by users.
