(Yangon, 28th February 2020)-Myanmar first and leading telecom operators, MPT today announced that MPT customers can check SIMs registration status with convenient ways in multiple channels including updated USSD function of *601# to quickly check whether their MPT SIMs have been registered with their NRC (National ID ).
According to the PTD instructions, customers need to register their SIM card under their names after purchase the SIM to avoid any possible crimes by unregistered SIM Card holders in the Mobile Financial Service and to ensure safe and secure service as well as for SIM Card holders to be accountable in using the service. Customers need the below information for SIM registration;
2) Original NRC (National ID) which was issued by Myanmar Nationality Law and Copy.
MPT is strongly advise that MPT customers to register their SIMs and avoid purchasing cards that have been already pre-registered. There will be no charges upon registration and the process can be conveniently done by MPT customers via the respective channels;
1) Simply Dial *601# for checking on SIM registration status and;
(i) Firstly, customers will receive conformation SMS that your requested SIM registration information is successful. After that you will receive SMS message that your phone number 09-xxxxxxxxx is already register with your NRC number (National ID)
(ii) If the registration is not match with yours, you will need to update the sim registration information and this could be easily done through MPT 4U App or MPT’s Customer selfcare website care.mpt.com.mm.
2) MPT 4U Application (It’s free for downloading MPT 4U Application by dialing *4040#. Data fees will be charged if you download MPT 4U Application at Apple store / Google Play store.)
