MPT Successfully Expands Its High-Speed LTE+ Network To Over 200 Townships by the End of September 2018

(Yangon, 3rd October 2018) Myanmar’s first and leading telecommunications operator, MPT celebrated another milestone for the rapid expansion of its high-speed LTE+ network, surpassing the 200 townships mark by the end of September.

Mr. Reizo Umeda, Chief Commercial Officer of MPT-KSGM Joint Operations said: “The expansion of our cutting-edge LTE+ network is making great strides, now covering more than 200 townships in Myanmar by the end of last month. Now even more mobile users can enjoy the benefits of the 4×4 MIMO and Carrier Aggregation technology-powered network speeds which enable significantly faster online downloads and uploads, entertainment streaming, gaming and social media connectivity like never before. Together with our attractive affordable Data Carry Plus packages, MPT customers can enjoy this enhanced network experience at greater value!”

 With this achievement, the operator is on-track to cover over 300 townships by the end of 2018, encompassing most of the country’s cities, towns and villages.

MPT LTE+ network became available to 55 new townships in September 2018, bringing it to a total of 216 townships covered. Customers in these newly-included locations can access MPT’s advanced telecommunications network with just a 4G-ready mobile device and a valid MPT SIM card:
