(Yangon, 3rd August 2018) MPT, Myanmar’s first and leading communications operator, helps keep flood victims in touch with families and emergency services. Starting from 3rd August, all active MPT subscribers who reside in one of the 18 flood affected townships will receive 30 voice minutes for free. Users will receive SMS notifications over the next two days. There is no additional subscription required. MPT subscribers will receive notifications automatically.
“Our thoughts are very much with the communities displaced from the flood affected areas in Mon, Kayin, and Bago (East) Region. MPT is always ready to support local communities in need. We believe that communication is vital to everyone’s lives, especially during natural disasters, that is why MPT was also heavily involved in flood disaster response activities in 2015, 2016, and 2017. It is our way for us to show that Myanmar is in Our Heart.” said U Naing Ko Ko, Deputy Chief Operating Officer of MPT-KSGM Joint Operations.
Myanmar’s first and leading telecommunications operator, runs a wide range of corporate social responsibility activities across the country, including sustainable water provision, tree planting and health education programs such as providing hand washing facilities to primary schools.
