(Yangon, 16 November 2016) – MPT and CB Bank have announced that customers will be able to register their SIM cards at a number of bank branches across Myanmar starting from 16 November, 2016.
According to the PDT’s announcement on August 1, all SIM cards must be registered by March 2017 and MPT is reaching out to partners to help make this process more convenient. CB Bank is the first to offer SIM registration over its counters so that people can easily and seamlessly document their card.
At the launch of this initiative there are 24 CB Bank branches at which MPT customers can visit to access the service. This is likely to expand in the future, with more CB Bank locations joining.
For customers who make SIM registration at the CB Bank branches and open the bank account at the same time, MPT bonus top up will be given from CB Bank.¬¬¬¬¬
