MPT to host nationwide Mobile Seminar that will inform users how to use their smartphone safely and efficiently

[:en]Yangon, Myanmar, May 2 2016– Based on the success of its first Mobile Seminar back in February 2016, Myanma Posts and Telecommunications (MPT), the first and leading telecommunications operator in Myanmar, announced today that they will now go nationwide with their mobile seminar with the aim of targeting 23,000 mobile phone users. Spread across 67 townships between 16 May and 19 July 2016, the seminars will address topics such as smartphone usage and internet safety.

The free to attend seminars will be held throughout Myanmar wherever MPT branded stores are located. However, MPT will conduct additional SPOT mobile seminars if customers from high schools, universities or factories officially request them. Customers will just need to visit www.mpt.com.mm website and download the registration form and send the application request by email to [email protected]. MPT’s customer care department will then send the confirmation to the requested customer where MPT will make the final arrangements and schedule a date for the seminar.

During the seminar, the MPT team will explain how to make the most of their smartphones whilst ensuring that it is used safely and economically so that they are being utilized to their maximum potential.

As part of MPT’s commitment to improving the lives of the Myanmar people, MPT will explain the usefulness of smartphones, the possible problems caused by inappropriate usage of smartphones and the best use of MPT services. MPT will also share tips on how to control data usage and avoid unintentional surge.

Mr.Koichi Kawase, Chief Commercial Officer of MPT-KSGM Joint Operation, said “As the sale of smartphones continues to rise and the demand for mobile internet usage increases, MPT wants to ensure the safety of all telecommunications customers by providing greater awareness on internet security. Therefore, MPT are restarting the program upon the demand coming directly from our customers. By taking these seminars nationwide, MPT will be able to reach a larger audience and explain how to use smart phones responsibly, share tips on internet safety, whilst making sure that our customers know how to use and access all of our available service.

Earlier this year, over 7000 MPT customers benefited from MPT’s previously held seminars. In February and March, MPT performed 56 seminars in 28 townships throughout the Ayeyarwaddy and Mandalay Region, each one enabling the MPT team to share tips and give advice in the region’s schools, universities and industrial zones.

MPT plan to rollout the mobile seminars that will be held in 67 townships in the following 13 states and regional divisions: Bago, Chin, Kachin, Kayin, Magwe, Nay Pyi Taw, Mon, Rakhine, Sagaing, Northern Shan, Southern Shan, Eastern Shan, Tanintharyi and Yangon.

MPT Mobile Seminar Requirements

To schedule a seminar with MPT at your location, the following requirements must be met.

When you are ready to host a MPT Mobile Seminar, please submit the Seminar Request Form. 

Seminar Duration:                       1.5 hours

Seminar Fees:                               Free of Charge

Participants:                                  Minimum 100 persons

Seminar Facilities:                      A suitable location & seats for the seminar must be prepared by the host.

Age Requirements:                    Participants must be 15 years old and above.
