MPT TO PROVIDE DONATIONS FOR RELIGIOUS CELEBRATION IN NOVEMBER

(Yangon, Myanmar, 19 November) – MPT, Myanmar’s first and leading telecoms company will celebrate Tazaungmone Lighting Festival together with the Myanmar People and provide many generous donations.

MPT will be generously lighting 9,000 candles at Kyaikhtiyoe Pagoda on November 28th 2015, along with offering candles and shawls to pilgrims for worship. In addition to this, MPT will be donating meals to the monks, and will be making a cash donation to help with the maintenance of Kyaikhtoyo Pagoda (Golden Rock), which is of great significance to the Myanmar people. Further to this, at the Shwe San Taw Festival at Pyay (19th – 26th November), and Thet Pan Pagoda Festival at Kathar (22nd – 26th November), MPT will be hosting a magic show and quiz at the MPT booth for everyone to enjoy.

For the Shwe Sandaw Pagoda Buddha Tooth Relic Festival in Pyay, MPT is providing Kyat 20 lakhs for the renovation and decoration of the Karaweik Raft, which will carry Buddha’s Tooth Relic through the town on November 24th. MPT also contributes 1.8 million Kyats for the decoration of the choral dancing raft, which will pull the Karaweik Raft with gold and silver chains.  In addition to this, MPT will be offering candles and shawls to pilgrims in Shwe San Taw Pagoda in Pyay, Shwedagone Pagoda in Yangon, and Mahamyatmuni Pagoda in Mandalay on 5pm on November 26th.
