MPT’s Introduces Brand New FTTH Service, Offering Affordable and Reliable High-speed Internet Service For Homes

(Yangon, 1st August 2017) – MPT, Myanmar’s first and leading integrated communications service provider, has launched its new fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) internet service in selected parts of downtown Yangon, offering affordable and reliable high-speed fiber internet with a low promotional one-time installation fee of Ks. 150,000.

Residents around the bustling Sule Pagoda area in Pabedan Township, can select from two attractive options. The first package of 5 Mbps comes at just Ks. 69,000 per month, which gives customers an affordable choice to access unlimited fiber internet.  For customers who require faster speeds for more demanding internet usage can opt for the 10 Mbps package at Ks. 109,000 per month.

The new high-speed FTTH internet service for homes and small businesses, signals MPT’s foray into providing users with fiber internet access in residential areas, complementing the options available under its range of fixed and mobile internet solutions. It is an attractive option for value-seeking internet users as there are no added annual subscription fees for unlimited internet access.

Following its introduction of FTTH service in downtown Yangon in August 2017, MPT will expand its FTTH offering to other areas of Yangon and Mandalay by early next year and plan to roll out the service to other major cities across Myanmar subsequently throughout 2018.

The promotional installation price of Ks. 150,000 will be available for the time being, after which it will be Ks. 200,000. The installation price includes cabling (subject to premise layout), activation cost, and rental for a terminal which would function as a WiFi router.
