Switch To E-invoice And Save Green With MPT

(Yangon, 21st January 2020) – MPT, Myanmar’s first and leading telecommunications operator, encourages its customers to register for E-invoice service. With the E-invoice system, MPT customers who are using post-paid and FTTH service, will receive their invoice statements via SMS or e-mail instead of traditional paper invoices. Digital invoices are not only more convenient but also helpful in saving the environment. Additionally, every Individual Private MPT customer switching to E-invoice will enjoy a special discount.

E-invoices eliminate the need for mailing paper invoices as they will be sent directly to the customers electronically via SMS or email. The new E-invoice system will significantly reduce energy usage and environmental waste.

With the introduction of E-invoices MPT is taking steps in joining the world-wide movement of reducing paper usage to help to prevent trees from being cut down and eliminates the energy that is used to convert a tree into paper. Moreover, going paperless means a significant reduction in the use of ink for printing and CO2 emissions as a result of vehicles required to deliver paper documents and ultimately reducing air pollution that affects the environment and health of millions of people.

Mr. Reizo Umeda, Chief Commercial Officer of MPT-KSGM Joint Operations said, “E-invoice brings a lot of benefits for the environment and convenience to the customers as digitization reduces not only the usage of paper but also it can make the busy daily life of the people nowadays easier. You will receive your invoice much faster compared to receiving it by paper. You can conveniently settle the payment without carrying an additional paper and enjoy a special discount from MPT. Now, every individual customer registering for E-invoice will get 500 kyats discount each month for five consecutive months, altogether 2500 kyats.”

MPT Customers can easily apply for E-invoice service by visiting the nearest MPT Office, contacting Call Centre (106), or filling up a form available at the following website https://www.mpt.com.mm/mm/e-invoice-registration-mm/. After successful registration, the customer will receive an SMS or e-mail to confirm the preferred E-invoice distribution channel.

As a responsible local telecommunications operator, MPT embarks on several CSR programs including nationwide tree-planting campaign called “MPT Green Movement” and nationwide clean activities called “Clean and Fresh to Move Forward”. These initiatives are aimed to benefit society economically and socially in the long term. Since its launch in 2017, the “MPT Green Movement” campaign resulted in the planting of over 17,000 trees and nationwide participation of record number of people in “Clean and Fresh to Move Forward” campaign raised awareness to build a clean and healthy community.
