Myanma Posts and Telecommunications (MPT), Ooredoo Myanmar Limited (Ooredoo), Telenor Myanmar Limited (Telenor), and Telecom International Myanmar Co., Ltd. (MyTel) jointly hosted an event to contribute to a better understanding of mobile services to mobile users at Pullman Hotel and Resorts (Yangon CenterPoint) in Yangon. The initiative ensures a continued growth of the industry based on Posts and Telecommunications Department (PTD) guidelines and regulations that benefit people and communities in Myanmar.
Each of the operators expressed their commitment to customer satisfaction and to ensuring that mobile users experience is understandable and not disrupted even through significant transitions, such as the recent implementation of Unicode Standard Font as well as double customer confirmation of service subscriptions, renewal and terms and conditions of Value-added services (VAS). Additionally, all operators explained their challenges regarding customer satisfaction and introduced their vision for the future of telecom services, such as voice and data bundles, value added services and digital customer care.
“It is imperative for Telecom Operators to continue providing our customers with innovative products and services to suit our customers’ requirement, the highest quality of service based on strong infrastructure to ensure for a long term beneficial to the Myanmar people. It is the best to work together to build foundations that will not only promote inclusivity in Myanmar’s digital transformation but also to support the socio-economic development of the country” said Mr. Reizo Umeda, Chief Commercial Officer of MPT-KSGM Joint Operations.
Mr. Chris Peirce, Chief Legal and Regulatory Officer of Ooredoo Myanmar said, “It is very important for regulators and operators to work together in order to ensure the sustainability of the Myanmar telecom sector to support the growth of Myanmar’s economy and the enrichment of the digital experiences and lives of the Myanmar people”.

Telecom operators have been awarded nationwide telecommunication licences to provide telecommunications services in Myanmar based on the guidelines and regulations from PTD and Ministry of Transport and Communications.
